Security forces killed four terrorists in an intelligence-based operations in Dera Ismail Khan. However, a soldier was martyred in the operation as well.

According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations, the operation was conducted in DI Khan’s Maddi area, on the reported presence of terrorists.

The security forces successfully engaged the terrorists, killing four of them, according to ISPR.

However, during the operation, Sepoy Basit Siddique was martyred. According to the ISPR, Siddique was 23 years old and was a resident of Attock. ISPR said that the sepoy ‘paid the ultimate sacrifice’ by embracing martyrdom.

A large cache of weapons was also recovered from the terrorists. ISPR added that the terrorists had been involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area. A clearance operation was also carried out to find any other terrorists in the area.

March was the deadliest month in terms of terrorism since 2015. According to a recent report, a total of 105 militant attacks were reported across the country while operations were also intensified against them. A total of 171 terrorists were killed in March while 86 security officials and 78 civilians lost their lives.
