Security forces killed 30 terrorists in South Waziristan in an intelligence-based operation on February 17.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations on Tuesday, the operation was carried out in Sararogha on the basis of intelligence.

“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location, as a result of which, thirty khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.

The statement also added that sanitization operations were carried out to ensure no terrorists remained in the area.

The operation comes a few days after forces killed 13 terrorists in two different operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The killed terrorists also included Saqib Gandapur, a ‘shadow governor’ appointed by the TTP.

Since last year, the ministry of interior has called for TTP terrorists to be referred to as ‘Fitna al-Khwarij’ due to their misuse of Islam for terrorism.
