Security forces have killed five terrorists in a successful intelligence-based operation in Bajaur district. The operation was conducted in Badan village of Mamond tehsil, following confirmed reports about the presence of militants in the area.
According to security sources, the terrorists were using part of a mosque as their hideout and shelter. Acting on precise intelligence, security forces launched the operation, eliminating the terrorists and securing the area from further threats.
Earlier, reports had emerged of heavy fighting between security forces and militants in Wara Mamond, Bajaur. Local residents confirmed intense clashes taking place in the Badan area between the two sides.
Sources said the confrontation was between security forces and militants belonging to the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists.
Security officials stated that intelligence-based operations will continue in the region to ensure peace and eliminate any remaining militant presence.
