The district administration and Levies Force in Ziarat, Balochistan, successfully foiled a major terrorist plot through timely action. During the operation, five suspected terrorists were arrested, reportedly linked to Kandahar, Afghanistan.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Ziarat, the suspects were apprehended at the Spira Rogha Levies check post. Authorities recovered a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment from the suspects, suggesting they were planning a major attack.
The seized items included 11 hand grenades, 3 submachine guns (SMGs), 2 M4 rifles in parts, 1 grenade launcher, 9 M4 magazines, 14 SMG magazines, 420 SMG rounds, 230 M4 rounds, 1 kilogram of explosives, 6 wireless sets, 4 mobile phones, 2 RPGs, 1 dagger, 13 ammunition bags, 16 power cells, 15 SMG grenades, a Suzuki Carry van, a motorcycle, and literature linked to the proscribed TTP group. Officials said the operation demonstrates the vigilance and preparedness of security agencies.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti praised the Deputy Commissioner of Ziarat, the Levies Force, and the district administration for their successful operation. He said that the sacrifices and timely actions of security forces are commendable in protecting the people of Balochistan.
The Chief Minister added that such operations are crucial in countering terrorism and thwarting the plans of anti-peace elements. He assured that the Balochistan government will continue to use all available resources to maintain peace and fully supports law enforcement agencies.
