Firing on patrol vehicle in Mansehra, four policemen injured

Unidentified armed men opened fire on a police patrol vehicle in District Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, injuring four police personnel. According to local sources, the incident took place near the Gitti Das checkpoint.

Police stated that the Gitti Das police post’s mobile van was on routine patrol when unidentified assailants suddenly opened fire at a turn. After retaliatory fire from the police, the attackers managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Police sources confirmed that four policemen were injured in the attack and were immediately shifted to a local hospital. The injured officers are reported to be out of danger.

Upon receiving the report, police teams from Mansehra, Paras, and Naran reached the scene and launched a search operation after cordoning off the area. Chilas police were also alerted, and checkpoints were set up across the region to track down the suspects.

The DPO of Mansehra stated that the operation would continue until the perpetrators are brought to justice.
