Early morning reports indicate powerful explosions in Matray Darra, a part of Tirah Valley in Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Local sources stated that as a result of these incidents, at least five houses were completely destroyed and more than twenty civilians were killed.

Following the incident, Iqbal Afridi, a Member of National Assembly from Khyber, claimed in a video statement that the attacks were carried out by warplanes, resulting in the deaths of 23 civilians.

So far, neither the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa nor the federal government has issued an official statement regarding the incident.

However, security officials have repeatedly stated regarding terrorist activities in these areas that terrorists use civilians as human shields to carry out their heinous crimes against the state and general population and they take shelter within these communities. Officials say that terrorists hide behind civilians to conduct their evil operations.
