A 12-hour curfew has been imposed across Bajaur District, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Monday announced the district administration. This development comes ahead of a targeted military operation in the region.
In addition to the district-wide curfew, a three-day complete curfew has been implemented in approximately 27 areas of Mamund Tehsil, starting from 11:00 AM on August 11th and lasting until 11:00 AM on August 14th. The administration urges residents to conclude all activities by 10:30 AM and remain indoors during the curfew period, warning of potential consequences for those who fail to comply.
The decision comes amidst a significant displacement of people from Mamund Tehsil over the past several days. To accommodate those affected, the district administration has made available 107 government schools and colleges as temporary shelters.
Furthermore, a relief camp has been established at the Bajaur Sports Complex, providing 450 tents for displaced families. The situation remains tense, and further updates are expected.
