At least three terrorists were killed in operation in Mianwali by the Counter Terrorism Department, thwarting plans for major terror attacks in the area.

According to a statement from the CTD, the operation was conducted near Rehmani Khel Mor in Mianwali on the basis of intelligence.

Terrorists opened fire on the CTD team, prompting the team to respond. During the ensuing clash, three terrorists were killed by firing from their own side. However, the CTD statement added that another six terrorists managed to escape the operation.

The CTD also recovered explosives, two rifles, bullets from the possession of the militants.

The terrorists had reportedly completed planning to attack police posts in the area. Operations are underway to arrest the remaining terrorists.

The spokesperson further said that the Counter Terrorism Department Punjab is diligently pursuing its goal of a safe Punjab and is determined to uproot the menace of terrorism.
