The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber district has killed three suspected members of the banned ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K) group in a major operation. The operation, conducted in Lala China Dosarke near Ali Masjid, followed intelligence reports indicating the suspects were planning a large-scale attack.
According to CTD officials, intelligence suggested that Fazl Noor, the local ISIS-K commander, was present at the location with several associates. A CTD SWAT team, equipped with modern weaponry, responded swiftly.
Upon arrival, the suspects opened fire on the CTD team, triggering a half-hour gun battle. Following the exchange, a search operation revealed the bodies of three suspects.
The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Naeem (alias Abdul Nasir) and Muhammad Kareem, both residents of Karak, and Noor Nabi, a resident of Nangarhar, Afghanistan. CTD officials claim Naeem and Kareem were masterminds behind a planned suicide bombing.
Authorities recovered three SMGs, twelve magazines with 135 cartridges, and three bandoliers from the suspects. However, Fazl Noor and his associates escaped under the cover of darkness. A large-scale search operation is underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects
