A police constable was martyred and another policeman injured when unknown assailants attacked the Mir Ali Patsi Adda police post at around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, officials confirmed.

Police identified the martyred as Constable Nizamullah, while Inamullah sustained injuries during the assault.

Security forces launched an immediate retaliatory operation, killing two militants on the spot, according to police sources.

The body of the martyred constable and the injured policeman were shifted to Mir Ali Hospital. Officials added that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
