Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces, General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, during his official visit to Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, both military leaders discussed ways to enhance bilateral defence cooperation and exchanged views on the evolving regional and global security situation. The military leadership of both countries reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the deep-rooted, brotherly relations and long-standing defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

In recognition of his remarkable services in strengthening Pakistan–Saudi Arabia relations, particularly in enhancing military-to-military cooperation, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal of Honor (Excellent Class).

The Saudi military leadership lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
