A captured terrorist, identified as Abdul Samad, has provided a shocking confession detailing the inner workings and horrific activities of the Gul Bahadur group, shedding light on the group’s exploitation of religion for violence. Samad’s testimony paints a disturbing picture of the group’s actions, which starkly contradict Islamic teachings.

Samad, a member of the Gul Bahadur group, spent approximately four and a half years in Afghanistan receiving weapons training. He then traveled to Manzar Khel, where he met with the group’s commander, Sadiq. After three months, he moved to the Zangoti Khursain area of North Waziristan and joined Asad Malla’s faction of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group.

Samad revealed that Asad Malla, operating from the minaret mosque in Zangoti, referred to the army as apostates while manufacturing IEDs, mines, and drone bombs. Samad’s confession further alleges that the mosque, during the production of these weapons, was used to play pornographic videos and music. He also stated that Asad Malla kept two young boys with him for nefarious purposes. Samad’s statement included the chilling line: “When I witnessed their actions, I realized they were worse than infidels.” He added that these terrorists, representative of the Kharijite movement, engaged in sacrilegious acts including desecration of the Quran, child abuse, and the defilement of mosques.

Samad attempted to leave the group when the army raided their location. Asad Malla and his associates escaped, but not before collecting mobile phones and identity cards. While the phones were formatted, the identity cards were retained by Asad Malla.

Samad stated that mosques in Zangoti served as hubs for the terrorists. He reported approximately 10 members in each of the Din Akbar, Mirza Khan, and Laud Khel mosques, with 15 members, including Asad Malla, in the minaret mosque. Asad Malla was the overall commander of the mosques in the village.

In a powerful concluding statement, Samad testified: “I spent five years with the Taliban and only five days with the army, but I bear witness that the army is righteous, and the Taliban are wrong.” He noted that while the Taliban labeled the army as hypocrites, his experience revealed the Taliban to be the true hypocrites.
