Bomb explosion in Afghan mosque injures 4 people

An explosion at a mosque in Samangan province in Central Afghanistan injured at least four people on Friday.

According to reports, the attackers threw a grenade into the Jui Zindajan Mosque in the city of Aybak around 12:45 pm local time as worshippers were gathering to pray.

The grenade explosion injured at least four people who were shifted to the hospital.

The attacker was apprehended by security officials as they tried to flee from the scene.

According to a police spokesperson, the incident is the result of a tribal enmity and not an instance of terrorism.

This week has seen multiple terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, including a bombing on a bank branch in Kunduz that killed 21 people and injured 33 others. The attack was claimed by ISKP. In another attack, a suicide bomber was intercepted as he tried entered the Ministry of Urban Development. The bomber’s killing resulted in an explosion, that claimed one life and injured three people.
