A local political and social figure, Councillor Shah Wazir Khan (60), was seriously injured after an unknown explosive device detonated in the Dadhara area of Kabbal Tehsil, Swat District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The incident occurred on Friday around 12:00 PM.
Following the blast, the Kabbal Police Station and Rescue 1122 Swat were immediately notified. According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, a medical team, acting on the directives of District Emergency Officer Rafiullah Marwat, rushed to the scene. The team provided immediate first aid to Shah Wazir Khan and subsequently transported him to Kabbal Civil Hospital via a Suzuki pickup for further medical attention. The injured Councillor’s condition is reported as critical.
Police reported that SHO Hayat Khan and a contingent of officers arrived at the site shortly after receiving the information. They began an inspection and the process of collecting evidence. Initial investigations suggest the explosion may have resulted from leftover explosive material or potentially a subversive act. Sources confirm that the police have cordoned off the area and a forensic team has been called in. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
