Balochistan, a province of Pakistan rich in natural resources and cultural diversity, faced a surge of terrorism and organized crime in 2025. Proscribed terrorist organizations like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) attempted to spread fear through bank robberies, the kidnapping of government officials, and attacks on civilians. The clear involvement of India behind these crimes exposed a conspiracy aimed at destabilizing Balochistan. However, the people of Balochistan, along with the security forces, recognized the true nature of these terrorists and launched a united struggle against them. This narrative is not only about challenges but also an epic tale of the bravery, determination, and unity of Balochistan’s people and security forces. Let’s look at the key events of 2025 where the resilience of the public and the security forces shone a light of hope despite the darkness of terrorism.
Indian interference was the root cause of terrorism in Balochistan, as it continued to provide weapons, training, and financial resources to the proscribed organizations. Groups like the BLA and BLF systematically executed bank robberies and kidnappings under Indian patronage to weaken the province’s economic structure and sow fear among the populace. The goal of these groups was to halt Balochistan’s development and promote a “so-called freedom” narrative, which was, in reality, part of an Indian proxy war. These Indian-backed terrorists damaged the livelihoods, businesses, and peace of ordinary Baloch citizens. However, their conspiracy failed in the face of the awakening of the Baloch public and the operations of the security forces.
In 2025, terrorist groups attempted to destabilize the province through bank robberies and the kidnapping of government officials across various districts of Balochistan. These incidents not only caused economic damage but were also a means to spread fear among the public and weaken the administrative structure.
Incidents Report Occuring in The Year 2025
On February 8, 2025, the BLA’s Majeed Brigade attacked the United Bank Limited (UBL) branch in Tehsil Zehri. They looted 6 million rupees and damaged the bank, an incident that served as a precursor to a new wave of terrorism.
Later that month, on February 27, 2025, the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) branch in Uthal, Lasbela, was robbed of over 6 million rupees. The terrorists also reportedly tortured police officials and SHO Yar Muhammad Commando injured.
The attacks continued in April, with a robbery at a United Bank Limited (UBL) branch in Turbat, Kech, on April 10, 2025. Staff members were held hostage, and millions of rupees were stolen. CCTV footage later exposed the terrorists’ well-organized escape plan.
A major incident occurred on May 3, 2025, in Turbat, where a private bank was robbed of 25 million rupees (2.5 crore). Masked terrorists forced the security guards to surrender and threatened the staff before escaping.
A particularly violent incident took place on May 30, 2025, in Surab, where 20 to 30 terrorists looted a commercial bank, set fire to the homes of government officials, and tortured general citizens. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of ADC Commissioner Hidayatullah Buledi. Provincial spokesperson Shahid Rind condemned the act, calling it an Indian-supported operation.
The violence spread to Mastung on June 24, 2025, when Habib Bank Limited was robbed of 20 million rupees (2 crore). The terrorists also set the NADRA office on fire, and one person was killed during the assault. Security forces engaged the terrorists, killing two of them in the exchange.
On July 11, 2025, a private bank in Buleda, Kech, was looted and subsequently set on fire, which was cited as further proof of an alleged Indian conspiracy.
The most significant robbery occurred on September 16, 2025, on the M-8 Highway near Turbat, where a cash van was ambushed, resulting in the theft of 220.5 million rupees—the largest bank heist in Pakistan’s history.
The latest reported attack was on October 7, 2025, in Mastung, where Allied Bank was robbed of 1.56 million rupees. Police officials immediately attributed responsibility for the attack to the BLA.
Kidnapping Incidents
In a disturbing series of events in Balochistan during 2025, several government officials were abducted, with authorities pointing to terrorist groups allegedly backed by India.
On June 4, 2025, Assistant Commissioner Tump Muhammad Hanif Noorzei was kidnapped by the BLF (Balochistan Liberation Front) in Turbat. He was traveling with his family in a government vehicle from Tump to Quetta while on leave when armed terrorists abducted him in the Turbat area. He was recovered three and a half months later, in September 2025.
On August 10, 2025, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal and his son, Mustansar Bilal, were abducted from Ziarat. They are still missing.
On September 30, 2025, DSP Rafique Hamza Mengal was kidnapped along with his vehicle from Mastung. He was released two days later, though the terrorists kept his car.
These crimes not only caused economic damage but also exposed the alleged Indian-supported agenda of the terrorists, which aims to sabotage peace and development in Balochistan.
The people of Balochistan recognized the true nature of the terrorists and spoke out against them. Security forces, including the Police, Levies, Frontier Corps (FC), and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), confronted the terrorists with strong public cooperation. In numerous operations, terrorists were killed or arrested, while the public provided vital intelligence and support to the security forces. Several security personnel were martyred while striving to establish peace.
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti stated that these terrorist groups are part of an Indian proxy war designed to halt development in the region. “Our security forces and the people are united. We will eliminate this menace and keep Balochistan on the path to progress,” he affirmed.
A senior officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: “Public cooperation is our greatest strength. These groups are harming ordinary Baloch people, but we will bring them to justice. Balochistan has a bright future, and together, we will secure it.”
Despite the challenges posed by terrorism and alleged Indian conspiracies in 2025, the people of Balochistan demonstrated great patriotism and determination. Terrorists attempted to spread fear through bank robberies and abductions, but the Baloch people and security forces stood united against them. Evidence of Indian interference exposed the true reality of these groups, who commit crimes under the guise of “freedom.” The people of Balochistan fought shoulder-to-shoulder with security forces for the development and peace of their province. This narrative is one of unity, bravery, and eventual triumph over adversity.
