A significant Grand Jirga was held in Bajaur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing together tribal elders, religious scholars, and representatives of the civil administration. The Jirga began with prayers for the departed souls of those killed in Bajaur.

Participants unanimously resolved to deny militants any refuge and pledged to completely expel them from the region. Video evidence was presented showing militants using mosques and civilian homes, prompting widespread concern among attendees.

The Jirga decided that if the militants do not voluntarily leave the area, a full-scale military operation will be launched against them. A Jirga member stated, “We will clearly tell the militants to vacate the area and let us live in peace.” Participants reaffirmed their commitment to fully cooperate with security forces to restore peace and order.

The session concluded with prayers for the country’s safety, peace, stability, and the success of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Latest reports indicate that the Bajaur Grand Jirga is continuing in Mamund Tehsil on Friday, with further decisions expected. Former Member of the National Assembly, Sahibzada Haroonur Rashid, is reportedly guiding the Jirga and its participants. Local sources report a large number of local people are present.

It is noteworthy that a curfew was imposed in Bajaur from July 29th to July 31st, with no news of its extension yet. The district administration has given the Jirga until 4 pm to conclude its proceedings; afterward, the administration will formulate its course of action.
