Authorities Impose Section 144 in North Waziristan to Prevent Unrest

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Department has imposed Section 144 in North Waziristan to maintain law and order, following a recommendation from the district administration. An official notification has been issued to enforce the order.

The notification states that the Section 144 restrictions will take effect from the morning of October 31, 2025, and continue until 7 p.m. on November 1, 2025. Under this order, all political and social activities, including gatherings, rallies, processions, and sit-ins, are prohibited in the district.

The decision has been taken to ensure public safety, maintain peace, and prevent any untoward incidents. Security forces and law enforcement agencies have been given the authority to take legal action against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Residents of North Waziristan are urged to fully cooperate with the administration and avoid spreading or acting on rumours. The district administration has also been instructed to provide timely and accurate information to the public. Authorities have emphasized that strict compliance with the order is essential to prevent unrest or threats to public safety.
