Six people were killed in a shooting in Lower Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said.

The incident occurred on the main Thal Parachinar Road when unknown assailants opened fire on a passenger vehicle traveling from Daradar towards Sadda.

Police sources reported that a heavy contingent of police arrived at the scene immediately following the attack and launched an investigation.

All six victims, according to local sources, belonged to the Ahl-e-Sunnat community. Their bodies were transported to the Sadda Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
