A major terrorist attack in the Banda Daud Shah tehsil of Karak district has resulted in the deaths of four people, including three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel and a civilian driver. The incident occurred near Thana Grigri, on the Terry Grigri Road, at a location known as Takhto Algidi.
According to police sources, the victims were traveling from Grigri in a vehicle when they came under fire from militants positioned on a mountaintop. The deceased FC personnel, all reportedly from the 272 Platoon, have been identified as Lance Naik Mahmoud Shah, Sepoy Shahid, and Sepoy Raouf. The civilian driver was identified as Shahpur. All were reportedly on field security duty for an oil and gas company named “Mol.” The deceased hailed from Lakki Marwat and Tank districts.
Security forces have launched a search operation in the area. Post-mortem examinations were conducted at a local hospital, after which the bodies were sent to their respective hometowns. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
This attack follows a separate incident last night in Lakki Marwat where a Frontier Corps Bolan personnel, Ata Ullah, was shot and killed by terrorists in his own home in the Saeed Khel neighborhood near the railway station. He was reportedly home on leave.
Further compounding the grim situation, two unidentified bodies with gunshot wounds were discovered this morning near the Lakki Pul in the railway station area of Lakki Marwat. Investigations are ongoing.
