Army Chief, Iranian Security Secretary Hold Talks on Peace and Counterterrorism

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan and recipient of Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Hilal-e-Jurat, met with Mr. Ali Ardeshir Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on bilateral cooperation, regional security issues, and the importance of strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations. Both leaders also discussed the overall security situation in the region and recent developments affecting stability.

The ISPR statement said that the Army Chief reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to regional peace and stability. He emphasized the need for close cooperation with Iran in combating terrorism and highlighted the growing importance of strategic collaboration amid changing geopolitical circumstances.

Mr. Larijani, the statement added, recognized Pakistan’s key role in maintaining peace and security in the region. He expressed his commitment to enhancing Pakistan-Iran relations and stressed the importance of dialogue and partnership between the two countries to address regional challenges and ensure long-term stability.
