Army Chief General Asim Munir made an appeal to foreign investors at the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025 to trust the country as a reliable partner.

Addressing the forum, General Munir expressed unwavering confidence in the nation’s potential to become a leader in the global minerals economy.  He extended a warm welcome to international organizations, urging them to leverage their expertise to identify investment opportunities and collaborate in developing Pakistan’s vast mineral resources.

General Munir added that ‘robust security framework’ will be made to protect the interest of investors in the country.

The army chief highlighted the critical need for skilled professionals – engineers, geologists, operators, and miners – to effectively extract Pakistan’s mineral wealth.  He announced that the country is actively investing in training the next generation of mining professionals, sending 27 students from Balochistan to Zambia and Argentina for specialized training in mineral exploration.  This initiative, he said, is part of a broader effort to build a robust workforce for the mining sector.

He underscored the growing importance of economic security as an integral component of national security. The Pakistan Army, he assured investors, will provide a robust security framework and proactive measures to safeguard the interests and confidence of its partners and investors.

The army chief stressed the importance of developing both upstream and downstream mineral industries within Pakistan. He advocated for increased investment in refining and value addition to optimize costs and diversify markets.

The army chief asserted that with Pakistan possessing abundant mineral reserves, a skilled workforce, and a transparent mineral policy asserted that there is no room for complacency or inaction. He urged all stakeholders to actively participate in the development of the nation’s mineral sector.

The army chief also expressed gratitude for the efforts of Baloch tribal leaders in promoting mining activities and contributing to the development of Balochistan. He emphasized that collaborative efforts will be key to unlocking the full potential of Pakistan’s mineral sector, promoting regional growth, prosperity, and sustainability for the collective benefit of the nation.
