Police stations in Bannu District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, have experienced a surge in drone attacks over the past month. The latest incident occurred on Saturday, when militants targeted the Miriyan Police Station with a quadcopter drone. However, swift police action prevented significant damage.
According to police sources, the drone dropped an explosive device, but officers quickly neutralized it mid-air. No casualties or property damage were reported.
This marks the second drone attack on the same police station in consecutive days. A previous attack resulted in injuries to two police officers.
This is the fifth drone attack on police facilities in Bannu within the past month, raising concerns about the safety of police personnel and the security of police infrastructure. Following these repeated attacks, security agencies have issued a city-wide alert and are reviewing strategies to counter future drone attacks.
