Pakistan conducted a successful training launch of the FATAH missile, showcasing its 120-kilometre range, on Monday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations.

The FATAH series missile is a surface-to-surface weapon and was tested a few days after the surface-to-surface Abdali missile was successfully tested. Both tests are part of the Ex Indus.

“The launch was aimed at ensuring the operational readiness of troops and validating key technical parameters, including the missile’s advanced navigation system and enhanced accuracy,” ISPR said.

ISPR added that senior officers of the Pakistan Army as well as scientists and engineers witnessed the launch. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and the Chief of Army Staff congratulated the team on the successful launch.

“They expressed complete confidence in the operational preparedness and technical proficiency of Pakistan Army to thwart any aggression against the territorial integrity of Pakistan,” ISPR added.

The missile training launch comes amid heightened tensions with India after the Pahalgam attack. India has reportedly given its forces operations freedom to act against Pakistan. In response, Pakistan has promised a ‘befitting’ response to the attack.
