Police defuse 15-kg bomb in Lakki Marwat

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police said on Monday that a major terrorist plot was foiled in Lakki Marwat when a bomb was found and defused on Wednesday.

According to police, the bomb contained 15 kilograms of explosive material and was fixed in a room adjacent to a tube well in Landiwah, in the jurisdiction of Dadewala police station.

A bomb disposal squad successfully defused the bomb after receiving a report. However, the perpetrators have not been identified so far.

A statement by the police encouraged citizens to report suspicious activity so that incidents of terrorism can be pre-empted.

According to official figures, at least 158 terrorists were killed in the month of March. The terrorists were killed in 73 operations in 15 different districts of the province. The highest number of terrorists killed in North Waziristan (40). Meanwhile, seven terrorists were killed in Lakki Marwat.
