Layyah police have announced a significant crackdown on criminal activity in February 2025, recovering over Rs172 million rupees worth of stolen goods and dismantling two major cattle theft gangs.
At a press conference held at the DSP Crore office, DPO Muhammad Ali Waseem highlighted the department’s commitment to protecting citizens and their property. He stated that those involved in theft and robbery would face the full force of the law.
The recovered goods include 35 motorcycles, 15 solar motors, 15 solar plates, 22 cattle, and other valuables seized during operations conducted by Fatehpur Police Station, Crore Police Station, and the CIA Crore Circle. A total of 125 criminal cases were registered during the month, many targeting cattle theft.
A major breakthrough involved the dismantling of the Akram Hatta inter-district cattle theft gang. Police arrested the gang leader and four accomplices, recovering over Rs55 million rupees in cash from the sale of stolen cattle. Separately, three members of the Shehbaz Masih cattle theft gang were apprehended, with stolen livestock worth Rs6 million recovered.
