Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman arrived in Qatar at the head of a delegation to hold a series of significant meetings with Hamas leaders. The meetings focused on the ongoing situation in Gaza and Palestine, with Rehman expressing unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
Further meetings included a significant discussion with former Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal. Rehman conveyed the sentiments of the Pakistani people, emphasizing their deep empathy for the Palestinian cause. He offered condolences for the fallen and prayers for the injured. Rehman also strongly condemned Israel’s actions as war crimes and violations of fundamental human rights.
Meshaal highlighted the urgent need for medicine, tents, and food rations for the Palestinian people. Rehman reaffirmed JUI-F’s commitment to providing all possible assistance. He also appealed to JUI-F workers and the Pakistani public to support their Palestinian brothers and sisters during this difficult time.
According to JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghauri, the delegation, which included Maulana Rashid Mahmood Soomro and Mufti Ibrar Ahmad Khan, met with Hamas’s Shura Council, led by Abu Omar. Discussions centred on the recent events in Gaza and Palestine, with Rehman assuring Hamas leaders of Pakistan’s full support.
Rehman emphasized Palestine’s status as an independent state and condemned the Israeli occupation. He reiterated JUI-F’s and the Pakistani people’s strong support for the Palestinian people’s struggle for the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine. The Hamas Shura Council expressed gratitude for Rehman’s support, highlighting that the JUI-F and the broader Muslim Ummah are fulfilling a religious duty by assisting Palestine.
Abu Omar appealed for aid from the Pakistani public and the wider Muslim world, requesting assistance with housing reconstruction, tents, medicine, and food provisions for suhoor and iftar during Ramadan. Rehman echoed this appeal, urging the Pakistani people to generously support their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
