Pakistan’s security forces killed six terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Mir Ali, North Waziristan on Wednesday night.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations, the forces received a report about the presence of terrorists and ‘effectively’ engaged their location resulting in their elimination.
However, the operation also caused losses to the forces with Major Hamza Israr and Sepoy Muhammad Naeem being martyred by firing from terrorists. ISPR said that the soldiers ‘paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat.’
“Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area as the Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR statement added.
The army conducted a total of 59,775 intelligence-based operations in 2024 killing at least 925 terrorists. ISPR said that this number included 73 highly wanted terrorist. The year was devastating for security forces and civilians alike with over 2,000 people losing their lives.
