Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, met Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday. During the meeting, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

According to the Foreign Office (FO), the two leaders also agreed to deepen bilateral relations between Islamabad and Tehran in various fields. The FO shared these details on the social media platform X.

Ali Larijani arrived in Pakistan on Monday and is expected to meet the country’s political and military leadership during his visit. This is the second high-level Iranian delegation to visit Pakistan within a month. Last month, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Baqer Qalibaf, visited Islamabad.

Before arriving in Pakistan, Larijani wrote on X that Iran and Pakistan are “two important and influential countries that help ensure lasting security in the region,” adding that Iran always values brotherly relations among regional nations.

He further said that the Iranian people “will never forget” the support shown by the Pakistani public during the 12-day war between Iran and Israel in June.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, described Larijani’s visit on X as “extraordinary.” He said the visit marks a historic milestone and an important turning point, as the already strong and time-tested ties between the two brotherly nations are entering a new strategic phase.

The ambassador stressed that, given the rapidly changing global landscape and emerging regional dynamics, it has become more important than ever to make Iran–Pakistan relations more strategic and elevated — a goal that this significant visit is expected to advance.
