The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has announced that security forces killed 27 terrorists associated with an Indian-backed proxy network known as Khawarij in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to ISPR, these operations are part of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” a national counterterrorism plan approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
Major Clash in Kurram District
ISPR reported that on 19 November 2025, security forces launched a targeted operation in Kurram district after receiving intelligence about the presence of Khawarij militants.
Security forces effectively attacked the militants’ hideout, and after a heavy exchange of fire, 12 terrorists were killed.
The spokesperson added that acting on further intelligence about another group in the same area, security forces carried out a second action and eliminated 11 more terrorists.
According to ISPR, sanitization operations are ongoing to clear the area of any remaining “foreign-backed terrorist elements.” The statement said that security forces and law-enforcement agencies will continue their counterterrorism campaign at full pace to completely eradicate externally supported terrorism from the country.
ISPR also mentioned that in an earlier press release on 19 November 2025, it was reported that between 17 and 18 November, four terrorists linked to the same Indian-backed network were killed in separate operations in Dera Ismail Khan, North Waziristan, and Bajaur districts.
