In a major breakthrough, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) conducted a joint investigation and arrested four terrorists belonging to the proscribed organization Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) involved in the attack on the Sector G-11 Judicial Complex in Islamabad.
The arrested individuals include Sajidullah alias Sheena, who was the direct handler of the suicide bomber. Sajidullah reportedly confessed that he received all instructions via the social media platform Telegram from TTP commander Saeed-ur-Rehman alias Dadullah.
CTD sources indicated that Dadullah is currently serving as the Intelligence Chief of the Nawa-i-Gai Sector in Afghanistan. Sources further disclosed that the bomber, identified as Usman alias Qari, also hailed from Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, and was provided shelter by Sajidullah at a safe house in Pakistan. The investigation revealed that the suicide vest was procured from the Akhun Baba Graveyard in Peshawar.
The ongoing investigation confirms that the TTP’s Afghan leadership guided the entire network and provided support at every stage of the attack. This operation successfully dismantled a key operational cell and confirms the deep nexus between anti-Pakistan activities and the support originating from Afghan soil. Further arrests are anticipated in this case.
