The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is continuing its targeted operations against terrorists under the specific directives of the Inspector General of Police and the Additional Inspector General of the Counter Terrorism Department. In this pursuit, daily intelligence-based operations are being carried out in sensitive areas of the province.
According to police sources, CTD Intelligence and SWAT teams were present in the Kunda Bridge area near Akbar Khan Kalle on Bahlole Road, within the jurisdiction of Saro Shah Police Station in Mardan, for a search and strike operation. During the operation, two motorcycle-riding individuals approached at an unusually high speed.
Police report that when the CTD teams signaled for them to stop, the motorcyclists allegedly opened fire on the police party with the intent to kill, which the police narrowly avoided. In self-defense, the CTD (SWAT) personnel immediately returned fire, successfully targeting and killing both individuals.
Identification and Recovery
Following the exchange of fire, police confirmed both attackers were killed. Upon checking their records, they were identified as Nauman alias Murad alias Ghaznavi son of Wali Murad, and Sohail alias Charsi son of Zer Nawaz, both affiliated with the Hamasi group of Fitna Al-Khawarij.
The deceased terrorists were allegedly involved in serious cases, including the martyrdom of Head Constable Amjad, Constable Iqrar Syed, and a passerby child, Ehtesham; a hand grenade attack on Bhraoch Checkpost; and other cases of murder and attempted murder.
Police recovered a black 125CC motorcycle, two 30-bore pistols with ammunition, and a touch mobile phone set from the possession of the killed terrorists.
The CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reiterated its commitment to continuing its targeted operations against terrorists indiscriminately to ensure the establishment of peace and order in the province.
