Balochistan Halts Public Transport for Three Days Amid Security Fears

The Balochistan government has decided to stop all public transport in the province for three days, starting tomorrow (Wednesday). A government notice issued on November 10, 2025, said that buses, vans, and coaches will not run from November 12 to November 14.

Officials have warned that anyone who ignores the ban could lose their transport permit. Police have already started checking major bus terminals in Quetta, such as Saryab and Jabal Noor, to make sure the ban is followed.

Many transport workers are upset about this decision. The president of the All Balochistan Transporters Association, Abdul Rehman Kakar, said the ban will hurt the daily income of drivers and transport owners. Other union members also asked the government to think about the problems faced by workers and to find another solution.

Extra security has been placed on highways and at transport points. Police and Frontier Corps officers are making sure that no public transport vehicles are running. Train services, including the Jaffar Express and Bolan Mail, which were stopped earlier this week, may also remain closed until November 15.

The government said this step has been taken to protect people after recent security threats and incidents, such as the railway track blast in Sukkur last month that injured several passengers. Officials said the ban will end as soon as the situation is safe and requested citizens to follow official updates and not believe or share fake news on social media.
