In Lower South Waziristan, security forces successfully foiled a suicide attack by militants targeting the main gate of Cadet College Wana. The explosion was so powerful that it caused the roofs of several nearby houses to collapse. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the incident and praised the timely response of the security forces.

Initial reports indicate that 15 people were injured in the blast, including four security personnel. All the injured were immediately taken to DHQ Hospital Wana for treatment, ISPR added.

Sources said the militants attempted to attack the college’s main gate, but quick and effective action by the security forces stopped them before they could enter the building. Early reports suggest that 2 to 3 militants were killed. Security forces have surrounded the area and launched a clearance operation, according to ISPR.

Upon receiving the report, District Police Officer (DPO) Tahir Shah Wazir (PSP) and FC Commandant SWS, Muhammad Tahir, arrived at the scene to assess the situation. They inspected the site and instructed officials to strengthen security and carry out a thorough investigation.

DPO Tahir Shah Wazir and FC Commandant Muhammad Tahir appealed to the public to stay calm and continue cooperating with police and security forces to maintain law and order. ISPR also urged citizens to remain vigilant and support security operations.

The public praised the prompt and courageous response of the security forces, saying they protected innocent children from a major tragedy without concern for their own safety. People expressed relief that cadets from across the country were safeguarded from the militants’ deadly plans.
