The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has carried out a major operation, foiling a significant terrorist plot and arresting 18 suspected terrorists from Lahore and various other cities in the province.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the successful intelligence-based operations were conducted in Lahore, Mandi Bahauddin, Khushab, Bahawalpur, Toba Tek Singh, Gujranwala, Narowal, Pakpattan, and Bhakkar.

Key Arrest and Recovery of Explosives

The CTD reported that during the operation, a key member of a dangerous terrorist group was also arrested. He was allegedly planning a major attack in one of Punjab’s cities.

The spokesperson further said that explosives, an improvised explosive device (IED), and three detonators were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects.

Thanks to the timely and effective action of the CTD, a major terrorist threat in the province has been successfully averted.
