Pakistan-Egypt Vow to Expand Ties as Army Chief Munir Meets President Sisi

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military), Hilal-i-Jurat, met with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt at the Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace in Cairo on Saturday.

​During the meeting, the two dignitaries engaged in a detailed exchange of views on bilateral relations and reaffirmed the long-standing friendship between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

​The Army Chief, General Asim Munir, appreciated Egypt’s pivotal role in maintaining regional peace and stability. In turn, President El-Sisi lauded Pakistan’s positive and active role in matters of importance for the global community and the Muslim Ummah. Both leaders underscored the significance of harmony to strengthen mutual strategic interests and people-to-people contacts.

​The statement further noted a mutual recognition of the shared history of friendly relations and a commitment to further broaden cooperation in all sectors, particularly social, economic, technological, and security matters. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing confidence that strengthening economic and security dialogue will significantly enhance peace, stability, and security in Pakistan, Egypt, and the wider region.
