Police Foil Terrorist Attack in Bannu, All Three Militants Killed

A terrorist attack was foiled late last night in the Huwed police station limits of Bannu district. Militants linked to an outlawed extremist group attempted to target the Mazangah check post, but the brave and alert police officers successfully stopped the attack in time.

According to details, three terrorists tried to attack the Mazangah check post using a three-wheeler rickshaw (Zarng) packed with explosives. The police noticed suspicious movement and attempted to stop the rickshaw. When the driver did not stop, officers immediately opened fire, which triggered a powerful explosion.

The blast killed all three terrorists on the spot. Fortunately, no police officers were injured. However, nearby houses sustained minor damage due to the intensity of the explosion.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Bannu Region Sajjad Khan and District Police Officer (DPO) Saleem Abbas Kalachi praised the quick and courageous action of the police personnel. They said the officers at Mazangah check post displayed outstanding professionalism, bravery, and dedication. They added that such officers are the pride of Bannu Police and that every cowardly act by enemies of the state will continue to fail.

Both DIG and DPO announced cash rewards and certificates of appreciation for the brave officers who took part in the operation.

The police have urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious people or activity to the nearest police station or control room. Bannu Police stated, “Pakistan is our country, our home. Together, police and public can defeat terrorism.” They also reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and protecting lives and property with the help of the community.
