Polio team guard shot dead in Swat
In Swat, a police officer named Abdul Kabir, who was assigned to protect a polio vaccination team, was shot dead by terrorists. According to Swat Police, the tragic incident occurred on Byakand Road in Anzargai Dak. After the attack, a search operation was launched in the area to trace and arrest the perpetrators.
Target killings and bodies recovered in Bannu and Tank
In Bannu district, terrorists carried out a targeted killing, shooting dead a man named Barkat in the Domail area. Police are gathering information and conducting operations to track down the attackers.
Meanwhile, in Tank district, two bodies were recovered from the Nasran area in Gul Imam. Police said that armed men had targeted the two victims — one of whom was a Frontier Corps (FC) soldier, and the other a civilian — both belonging to the same family.
Bomb attack on petrol pump in Khyber district
In Khyber district’s Bara tehsil, within the jurisdiction of Milwar police station (Aka Khel area), terrorists attacked a petrol pump owned by MPA Haji Shafiq with a bomb blast. According to police, one worker was martyred in the explosion. Authorities have started an investigation into the incident.
Curfew Imposed in South Waziristan
The administration of Upper South Waziristan has announced the imposition of a curfew in the Sarwekai subdivision. The curfew will be in effect from 6:00 PM on October 14 until 6:00 AM on October 16. Officials stated that travel permits may be issued by the police and security agencies for essential movement in emergency situations.
Abducted Employees Rescued in Bannu
In a positive development, two abducted employees of the Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSS) in Bannu have been safely rescued and returned to their homes. The two men had been kidnapped by armed individuals a few days earlier from the area of Grerha Shahjahan in Bannu.
