Pakistan’s Armed Forces have said that they successfully repelled an unprovoked cross-border attack launched by the Afghan Taliban and India-sponsored Fitna al Khawarij (FAK) along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on the night of 11–12 October 2025. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the coordinated assault, involving firing and limited physical raids, was aimed at destabilizing border regions to facilitate terrorism and advance FAK’s “nefarious designs.”
Exercising the right of self-defence, the alert Pakistani troops responded swiftly and decisively across the entire frontier. The ISPR said the Armed Forces inflicted heavy losses on Taliban forces and affiliated militants through precision strikes, heavy fire, and targeted raids on Taliban camps, posts, and terrorist training facilities operating from Afghan territory. The operations also targeted networks linked to Fitna al Khawarij (FAK), Fitna al Hindustan (FAH), and ISKP/Daesh, with strict measures taken to avoid collateral damage and protect civilian lives, said ISPR
As a result of these sustained operations, several Taliban locations were destroyed along the border. The statement added that twenty-one (21) hostile positions on the Afghan side were briefly captured, while multiple terrorist training camps used for planning and facilitating attacks against Pakistan were rendered inoperative, ISPR highlighted.
During the overnight clashes, twenty-three (23) Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom while defending the country’s territorial integrity, and twenty-nine (29) others were injured. Credible intelligence assessments indicate that more than two hundred (200) Taliban and affiliated terrorists were neutralized, with many more wounded. “The Armed Forces of Pakistan remain fully prepared to defend the nation’s territorial integrity, and our resolve to protect the life and property of our people is unwavering,” the statement emphasized.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s preference for diplomacy and peaceful engagement, the ISPR warned that Islamabad would not tolerate the “treacherous use of Afghan soil” for terrorism against Pakistan. The statement also noted the timing of the incident — coinciding with the visit of the Taliban Foreign Minister to India — calling it a “serious provocation” and urging the Taliban government to take immediate and verifiable action against FAK, FAH, and ISKP/Daesh operating from its territory. — ISPR
The statement cautioned that Pakistan would continue to exercise its legitimate right to self-defence through the persistent neutralization of terrorist threats. It urged the Taliban authorities to prioritize peace, prosperity, and the well-being of the Afghan people over “irresponsible sabre-rattling.”
“Last night’s episode vindicates Pakistan’s long-standing position that the Taliban government is actively facilitating terrorist groups,” the ISPR said, adding that if such sponsorship — particularly in collaboration with India — continues, “the people and the state of Pakistan will not rest until the menace of terrorism emanating from Afghanistan is completely eliminated.” — ISPR
