A group of terrorists launched a heavy assault with automatic weapons on the Hassan Khel Police Station near Darra Adam Khel, Peshawar. However, police personnel demonstrated exceptional skill and bravery, successfully repelling the attack and killing two of the assailants.
According to a spokesperson for the Peshawar Police, a fierce exchange of gunfire between the terrorists and police continued for approximately two hours. The police mounted a strong counter-attack, which resulted in the death of two attackers. Initial reports also suggest that several other terrorists were injured during the operation.
The remaining members of the terrorist group managed to escape under the cover of darkness, abandoning the bodies of their two deceased accomplices at the scene.
Immediately following the incident, a large contingent of police forces arrived, cordoning off the entire area to mitigate the risk of any further attacks. Police have since initiated a large-scale search and clearance operation in the vicinity.
Police officials stated that officers effectively utilized modern weaponry, including sniper rifles, during the operation, completely frustrating the “nefarious aims” of the miscreants to seize the police station. The police reported no casualties on their side during the successful counter-attack, praising their personnel for confronting the terrorists with high morale and preventing them from achieving their objectives. Police further added that the process to identify the killed terrorists and investigate their potential network is rapidly underway.
