Efforts to restore peace and stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu region achieved a major success when the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Bannu Police jointly eliminated two most wanted terrorists in an intelligence-based operation. Among those killed was the mastermind responsible for the martyrdom of four brave CTD officials, police confirmed.
According to police, the joint operation was conducted on the special directives of DIG Bannu Region Sajjad Khan, based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the Domel area along Company Road. Acting on precise information, security forces launched a well-coordinated strike targeting two militants affiliated with the banned outfit Fitna al-Khawarij. Both terrorists were wanted in multiple serious cases by Bannu Police and the CTD.
Police identified one of the slain militants as Rashideen alias Malang Yar, who was the key planner behind the recent attack that resulted in the martyrdom of four CTD personnel.
Following the operation, security forces recovered a large cache of weapons, hand grenades, and identity cards belonging to the banned organization — clear evidence of the terrorists’ violent intentions.
DIG Bannu Region Sajjad Khan praised the Bannu Police and CTD teams for their bravery and professionalism during the successful operation. “The courage, determination, and sacrifices of our police and CTD personnel are the true guarantee of peace,” he said. “We are committed to completely cleansing the Bannu region of terrorist elements and restoring lasting peace.”
