According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces, security forces conducted two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
On October 8, 2025, security forces carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan (D.I. Khan) district, following reports of the presence of Indian-backed terrorists, described by ISPR as ‘Khawarij.’
During the effective action by the forces, seven Indian-backed terrorists were killed. However, in a heavy exchange of fire, Major Sibtain Haider (aged 30, a resident of Quetta) was martyred while fighting bravely. ISPR reported that Major Haider was leading his troops from the front line.
Separately, in the Central Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation against terrorists last night.
The operation resulted in the killing of 19 terrorists. However, the security forces suffered significant casualties in the engagement, with at least 11 security personnel martyred, including a Wing Commander and a Major. Two additional security personnel were also wounded in the attack, which lasted for several hours and continued until the early morning.
In the intense retaliatory fire by the security forces, two terrorist commanders were killed, including Shaheen, an extremely wanted terrorist commander. Six other terrorists were also wounded in the exchange of fire. The terrorists had reportedly taken five security personnel with them; their bodies were later recovered. This tragic incident occurred in the Jamal Mela area.
