Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has initiated major projects in Dera Ismail Khan district to improve the law and order situation and enhance the welfare and facilities of the police force.
A modern Surveillance System is being installed to establish a Safe City in Dera Ismail Khan district. Under this project, a total of 480 CCTV cameras will be installed at 88 key locations in the city. This advanced system will allow for effective monitoring of crime and terrorist activities.
According to a statement released by the Chief Minister’s House, the reconstruction of seven police stations is underway in Dera to strengthen the basic infrastructure for law and order. In addition, other new police stations will also be built. To improve administrative affairs and traffic control, a Traffic Headquarters, a Command and Control Center, and a Facilitation Center will also be established.
To further tighten security at the entry and exit points of D.I. Khan, construction is also underway for six new police check posts on the Dera-Tank Road and four on the Darazinda Road.
The statement from the Chief Minister’s House emphasized that the welfare and facilitation of the police force have been declared a top priority. On this occasion, tribute was paid to the Dera police personnel, acknowledging the great sacrifices they have made in the fight against terrorism.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also approved the recruitment of 600 new constables in Dera Ismail Khan and 200 in the neighboring district of Tank to address the shortfall in the police force. This measure is expected to not only reduce unemployment but also improve the overall security situation.
According to the statement, these steps will prove to be significant milestones toward providing a safe and better administrative environment for the citizens of Dera Ismail Khan and Tank.
