Pakistan has further strengthened its defensive capabilities by successfully completing a training launch of the locally developed, advanced cruise missile ‘Fatah-4’. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), this missile possesses an exceptional capability to strike land and sea targets with high precision at a range of 750 kilometres.

The ISPR spokesperson stated that the Fatah-4 cruise missile is equipped with the latest avionics and navigational systems. Its most significant feature is its terrain-hugging flight, which means the missile flies at a very low altitude, following the contours of the ground. This capability is key to helping it evade enemy defence and radar systems.

This advanced missile will play a crucial role in further enhancing the range, effectiveness, and survivability of the Pakistan Army’s conventional missile systems. Officials have stated that this test is part of Pakistan’s efforts to maintain the balance of power in the region.

The training launch was witnessed by the Chief of General Staff, senior military officers and Pakistan’s renowned defence scientists and engineers. The military leadership commended the efforts of the scientists and soldiers and acknowledged this step toward self-reliance in the country’s defence.

The President, Prime Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the heads of all three armed forces have congratulated the nation, the team of scientists and the Pakistan Army on this successful test.

This successful test of the Fatah-4 cruise missile is being called another significant step toward self-sufficiency and technological development in Pakistan’s defense system. Defense experts believe that the inclusion of such indigenously developed weapons will significantly boost Pakistan’s defensive strength and bring about innovation in the country’s military technology.
