​On September 24, 2025, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan. The operation was carried out following information about the presence of terrorists linked to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
​According to the Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army effectively engaged the terrorists’ hideout, resulting in the killing of 13 anti-state terrorists. A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from their possession.
​ISPR stated that the neutralized terrorists were involved in numerous subversive activities in the area. These activities included a suicide attack in Daraban in December 2023, as well as the kidnapping and targeted killing of government officials and innocent civilians.
​ISPR added that security forces are continuing search operations in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists. The Pakistani security forces are committed to completely eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country.
