Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, stated that the honorable repatriation of Afghan refugees is in the best interest of both Pakistan and Afghanistan. He made these remarks during a meeting in Quetta with Afghanistan’s Acting Consul General, Maulvi Mohammad Habib Nasir.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the departure of Afghan refugees from Balochistan and other related matters. The Chief Minister explained that the provincial government is implementing the national policy on the repatriation of foreigners. He assured that the government is providing full support to the Afghan refugees who are returning to their country.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that Balochistan’s traditions are based on humanity and respect, and that Afghan women are regarded as mothers and sisters. He has issued clear directives to administrative officers to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the elderly, women, and children during the repatriation process. For this purpose, the Balochistan government has also appointed a senior officer as a focal person.
He further added that the repatriation process will be completed in a gradual and dignified manner, and the Balochistan government is providing all necessary facilities in the spirit of humanity.
