Under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Hangu, Khanzeb Mohmand, and on the special directives of DIG Kohat Region, Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat, the Doaba police conducted a major operation and successfully foiled a large-scale terrorism plot. A significant amount of weapons and explosives was recovered during the raid.

According to police sources, on September 22, 2025, in the Azimabad area of Dar Samand, a targeted operation was carried out under the leadership of SP Investigation Abdul Samad Khan, DSP Tall Mujahid Khan, and SHO Doaba Police Station Imranuddin Khan, with the support of Al-Buraq commandos and police personnel. During the operation, a suspect identified as Umar, son of Muhammad Amin, resident of Azimabad, was arrested. Weapons and equipment intended for terrorist activities were seized from his possession.

The recovered arms included one LMG (light machine gun), one M4 rifle, three repeater rifles, one  303 bore rifle, and three 30-bore pistols. In addition, four hand grenades, five safety fuses, three pressure cookers, two binoculars, 14 magazines, 272 assorted rounds of ammunition, and two camouflage uniforms were also recovered.

On this occasion, DPO Hangu Khanzeb Mohmand stated that the police force sends a clear message to the enemies of peace: there is no refuge for criminals or terrorists in Hangu. He asserted that their networks will be completely dismantled and that no one will escape the law. He further said that anyone attempting to harm the lives and property of the public will be crushed with full force. This operation, he emphasized, is living proof of their determination.

The DPO also appealed to the public to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious activity. He added that timely information from citizens could help prevent major acts of terrorism. Public cooperation, he said, is the strongest weapon in maintaining peace and security.
