In the vicinity of Khatun, a rural area in the Sui tehsil of Dera Bugti district, Balochistan, unidentified armed men have abducted eight individuals. The incident occurred on Saturday morning, causing tension to rise in the area.
According to Levies sources, all the abducted individuals belong to the local Bugti tribe. Among the abductees, five are reported to be local pasture guards, while three are farmers (landowners or cultivators).
The abductors allegedly forced the individuals at gunpoint and moved them to an unknown location.
Upon receiving the report, the Levies immediately launched an operation. The Levies forces have cordoned off the area and begun a search operation to locate both the suspects and the abductees. As of the latest updates, there has been no trace of the kidnapped individuals.
It is worth noting that two months earlier, two assistant commissioners had been abducted. One of them was later released, while Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal and his son were brutally killed.
