The Pakistani federal government has approved the relocation of the Federal Constabulary headquarters from Peshawar to Islamabad. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed officials to identify suitable land and develop a master plan for the new headquarters.

A statement released by the Ministry of Interior stated that the decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Minister Naqvi at the CDA headquarters. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also attended the meeting, along with the federal interior secretary, the Federal Constable commandant and deputy commandant, the CDA chairman, the Islamabad IG police, the Islamabad deputy commissioner, and other senior officials.

The Interior Minister instructed CDA officials to allocate appropriate land in Islamabad for the Federal Constabulary headquarters and training facilities.

Minister Naqvi stated that the government aims to modernize the Federal Constable force, transforming it into a highly efficient and organized unit. He explained that the relocation is intended to improve the force’s performance and prepare it for future challenges. The minister also noted that the move will not only enhance the administrative efficiency of the Federal Constabulary but will also strengthen Islamabad’s security apparatus.
