Two terror plots thwarted in Bajaur

Police and the Army have successfully thwarted two major terrorist plots in Bajaur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to local sources, timely police intervention prevented a devastating attack on a crowded marketplace and repelled a rocket attack on a police station.

A Bajaur police spokesperson reported that militants had planted a homemade bomb in the Ainat Kali market. Upon receiving information, the SHO (Station House Officer) of Loi Mamund police station, along with police personnel, swiftly arrived at the scene and secured the area. A Pakistan Army bomb disposal team then expertly and professionally neutralized the bomb in a controlled detonation, averting potential widespread destruction and significant casualties.

Separately, on Saturday morning, militants launched a rocket attack on the Loi Mamund police station. However, police personnel responded swiftly and effectively, thwarting the attack. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

The District Police Officer (DPO) of Bajaur commended the courage and bravery of the police personnel, stating that the police force is committed to combating anti-peace elements with full force and determination, vowing to thwart all attempts to disrupt peace and security.
