Security forces conducted a targeted operation in Bajaur district, resulting in the death of two highly wanted terrorists, officials confirmed on Friday. The operation, based on intelligence reports, led to an exchange of fire in which Zahirullah, also known as Ghaznawi, from Charmang, and Abdul Rahman, also known as Zahirullah, son of Yar Khan from Babra, were killed.
Both militants were reportedly affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and were implicated in various acts of sabotage and attacks against security forces. The security forces surrounded the area before engaging the militants in a gun battle. In addition to the two terrorists, weapons and explosive materials were recovered from the site.
The slain terrorists were believed to have masterminded recent terrorist activities in Bajaur. Following the operation, search operations have intensified to apprehend any accomplices.
Local elders praised the security forces’ actions, stating that such operations are vital for maintaining peace and security in the region. The successful operation is a significant blow to terrorist networks operating in the area and underscores the ongoing efforts to combat extremism.
